The Initial Situation
For McDonald's Germany, the smooth technical operation of its restaurants is critical to its business. However, the service solution previously in use was organized in a decentralized manner, offered little transparency regarding response times, and required a significant amount of manual effort in communication between restaurants, service partners, and suppliers.
Furthermore, there was a lack of interfaces, analytics capabilities, and a scalable architecture needed to efficiently manage service processes—particularly the supply of replacement parts and the technical maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment. McDonald’s therefore decided to reorganize its existing service concept and transition to a centralized service management platform. This platform connects all stakeholders and digitally maps the service processes end-to-end.
