The Initial Situation

The in-house IT department at Hobby-Wohnwagenwerk Ing. Harald Striewski GmbH supports several hundred employees in the areas of production, development, administration, and service and serves as the digital foundation for many business processes. Before the introduction of EcholoN, service requests and tasks were primarily managed through Outlook.

As a result, transparent processing statuses, structured delegation, and centralized tracking of tasks were only possible to a limited extent. The company was therefore looking for a platform that centrally manages service processes, manages IT assets in a structured manner, and enables better planning of resources and workloads.

Conclusion:

Hobby has been using EcholoN in its IT department since December 2019 and in its maintenance workshop since April 2023. Approximately 36 internal users work with the platform, and about 450 employees submit service requests via the self-service portal.

With approximately 3,000 tickets per year, EcholoN serves as the central platform for IT service processes, asset management, and monitoring integration. The IT department gains complete transparency into processes and processing statuses and can manage resources and service processes in a targeted manner.

Goals and Challenges

  • Implementation of a Centralized IT Service Management System
  • Transparent processing and tracking of service requests

Solution Approach with EcholoN

EcholoN was initially introduced in the IT department in December 2019 to centrally manage service requests and administer the IT infrastructure in a structured manner. Since April 2023, the operations workshop has also been using the platform, allowing technical operations services to be organized through a shared system.

Today, EcholoN processes approximately 249 tickets per month and, in addition to ticket management, also supports asset management, monitoring integration, and the reporting and analysis of service processes. Active Directory, the PRTG monitoring system, and SQL-based databases are connected via interfaces. The CMDB currently manages more than 2,300 IT assets.
